Sometimes I just really really hate school. Half the time teachers and their "system" are bullshit. Ugh. [heyitsRachel]

Free Music = New Music
Today I won a crapload of free song downloads from Upbeats.com
In my iTunes I already have all the songs that I know that I want. But (obviously) that doesn’t mean I have all the good music I could ever possibly want. So today I decided to browse through Upbeats and find some good music that I didn’t already know about. My downloads from today are as follows:

The Field- Yesterday and Today
This is a really melodic (and slightly hypnotic) electronic album. Perfect for my headphones in art class, so I don’t have to listen to the other students’ bullsh music.
Highlights: Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime

Yeah Yeah Yeahs- It’s Blitz
Karen O is amazing, and so is this album. It’s got a little bit of anger, a little bit of sadness, and a little bit of whatever it is that makes you wanna dance.
Highlights: Zero & Heads Will Roll

IAMX – Kingdom of Welcome Addiction
This album is… sexy? Powerful? Strange? Lyrically awesome? Yah, pretty much all of those.
Highlights: Tear Garden, Kingdom of Welcome Addiction, & An I For An I

30 Seconds to Mars- This Is War
This album came out about a month ago, but I’d been looking forward to it for the last year (when I first heard about it). It was totally worth the wait.
Highlights: Kings and Queens, This is War, & Night of the Hunter

Lily Allen – It’s Not Me, It’s You
Lily is hilariously sarcastic, and (on this album especially) provides a much more electro-sound to her usual pop goodness. Her lyrics make you think “omg did she seriously just say that?!” but in a totally awesome way.
Highlights: the whole damn album
