Finally leaving the ceramics studio at 1 am. Now I get to go home and pack for SXSW and maybe get a few hours of sleep. Yippee. [heyitsRachel]

Free Music = New Music
January 17, 2010Today I won a crapload of free song downloads from Upbeats.com
In my iTunes I already have all the songs that I know that I want. But (obviously) that doesn’t mean I have all the good music I could ever possibly want. So today I decided to browse through Upbeats and find some good music that I didn’t already know about. My downloads from today are as follows:

The Field- Yesterday and Today
This is a really melodic (and slightly hypnotic) electronic album. Perfect for my headphones in art class, so I don’t have to listen to the other students’ bullsh music.
Highlights: Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime

Yeah Yeah Yeahs- It’s Blitz
Karen O is amazing, and so is this album. It’s got a little bit of anger, a little bit of sadness, and a little bit of whatever it is that makes you wanna dance.
Highlights: Zero & Heads Will Roll

IAMX – Kingdom of Welcome Addiction
This album is… sexy? Powerful? Strange? Lyrically awesome? Yah, pretty much all of those.
Highlights: Tear Garden, Kingdom of Welcome Addiction, & An I For An I

30 Seconds to Mars- This Is War
This album came out about a month ago, but I’d been looking forward to it for the last year (when I first heard about it). It was totally worth the wait.
Highlights: Kings and Queens, This is War, & Night of the Hunter

Lily Allen – It’s Not Me, It’s You
Lily is hilariously sarcastic, and (on this album especially) provides a much more electro-sound to her usual pop goodness. Her lyrics make you think “omg did she seriously just say that?!” but in a totally awesome way.
Highlights: the whole damn album

January 16, 2010I needed to have my old Macbook Pro’s keyboard back-light fixed, and instead Apple had it completely replaced for free!
*update* I figured out how to transfer all those prefs over! A lot easier than I had thought! lol
Snowskating with Rachel
January 1, 2010Growing up I used to snowskate every chance I got… but since I’ve been away at college I haven’t had the opportunity. And today I couldn’t find a steep enough slope to go down, so hopefully I can try again tomorrow!
Music: White Christmas by Bing Crosby
Christmas Eve Snowtime
December 24, 2009The first (and probably last) snow I’ve seen in 2009! (featuring Rachel, Mom, & Piper)
Birthday Treat from Pasquale
December 13, 2009If you didn’t already know, there’s this guy name Pasquale D’Silva who is super goofy/hilarious/talented and is also one of the nicest guys I know. He decided to make me a little video with his friends to “raise awareness” for my birthday. Today I turn 21
